Interlibrary Loan



What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan is a service provided to students, faculty and staff of Argosy University, Dallas Campus to supply materials unavailable in the Argosy University, Dallas Campus Library. The kinds of materials that are available through interlibrary loan include:

  • Books or chapters from a book
  • Copies of articles in periodicals
  • Some theses, dissertations, videos and government publications


How do I request materials?

Requests must be e-mailed to dallaslibrary@argosy.edu.


Is this service free?

The service is free, but some libraries may charge a fee (which will be passed on to the borrower). For example, some highly specialized journals may be only available at research libraries.


How long does it take to receive materials?

Processing usually takes one to three weeks. About 75-80% of interlibrary loan requests are received within 14 days. Intercampus loans are faster. Generally it takes a few days up to a week to receive an intercampus loan.


How long may I keep the material?

You may keep copies of articles. Books are generally loaned for 2 to 4 weeks.


Where do I return the books?

Return all interlibrary loan books to the Circulation Desk or the Interlibrary Loan Desk.
