Policies

General:

Please be aware that food, drinks, and cell phones are not allowed in the library. Drinks may be left by the front entrance.

Books:

All books are cataloged using the Library of Congress Classification Scheme. You may look for a book in the online Argosy University Library Catalog. You may search for a book by title, subject, author or keyword. These books may be checked out for a period of 4 and may be once for 2 additional week. Books may be renewed in person or renewed online and can be returned at the circulation desk during library hours. A $0.25 per day fine is charged for overdue books.

Reserve Materials:

Many required texts and articles for courses are available on reserve at the circulation desk. The reserve materials can be checked out for two hours. A student I.D.is required to check out one of these books. A $0.10 per minute fine will be charged if the material is not returned in time without contacting the library staff.

Journals:

The library subscribes to a number journals in the fields of business, education, and psychology. The library also has a collection of journals on on microfiche. To search the library collection of journals use our online journal list or see our printed list available in the library. Journals cannot be taken out of the library nor checked out overnight.

Psychological Testing Materials:

The library has a number of psychological tests that practicum students can check out for two days at a time. A fine of $5.00 a day will be charged materials are not returned on time.

CRP's and Master's Thesis:

CRPs may be reviewed but may not be checked out.

Computers:

There are a number of computers in the Library Computer Lab available for student use on a first come, first served basis. Several computers have SPSS and PAI software. The computers in the Grad Lounge also have SPSS.

Check with the Circulation Desk for log-in instructions.

Audiovisual Equipment:

The library has 2 digital video cameras which use –RDS DVDs.

Videotapes/ Audiotapes:

Commercial and common hour videotapes are available to students. Videotapes can be checked out for 4 hours and viewed in the library. There is a $0.10 per minute fine for overdue videos.

Photocopy Machines:

There is currently one photocopy machine available for student use in the library next to the library computer lab. Copies are $.10 per copy and a copy card is required.
